The Skilio Career Fellowship trains and places Southeast Asian students to secure internship opportunities with Singapore-based companies with their employability skills
- Registration fee: $20 SGD
- Placement fee (at the end of first 2 months of you getting your internship salary): $165 x 2 – this will be automatically deducted from your first 2 months of internship salary
- Total programme fee: $350 SGD
Generally, the training before the placement is asynchronous (takes about 4 hours in total) and fellows are encouraged to do the internship for at least 3 months. Employers would however prefer interns who can commit for longer than 3 months.
This is the general programme flow for the fellowship.
Step 1: Enquiry
Find out about the Skilio Career Fellowship, receive information about the programme from webinars, brochures or the Skilio website.
Step 2: Fellowship Application
Submit link to Skilio Portfolio for screening. Skilio Portfolio should contain your resume, English certification and relevant skills for interested roles you want to apply for.
Step 3: Fellowship
- Selected students get shortlisted (other students will be put on waiting list and be invited to apply again)
- Pay membership fee ($20 SGD)
- Receive application support – resume/ cover letter writing, interview prep, etc
- Apply for jobs using your Skilio Portfolio
Step 4: Interview
- Interview with interested companies – failing to turn up without notice reflects very bad on you!
- Skilio will be kept in the loop for ALL communications

Yes. This programme is open to tertiary students, undergraduates and fresh graduates.
Yes, as long as they are able to commit at least 30-40 hours a week.
We will be getting feedback from the employers through our Skilio Platform and employers will also give you feedback based on their internal KPIs, which differs across companies.
Yes. Skilio is proud to offer Certificates of Participation to students who attended the Skilio Career Fellowship webinar and Certificates of Completion to fellows who completed the Skilio Career Fellowship programme.
Requirements: Basic English proficiency (able to show proof of either one: IELTS, TOEFL, Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level General paper/KI, SAT, IB English) OR take a free proficiency test from Skilio.
You can apply for as many positions as you would like, and choose your desired position if you have multiple offers before the deadline set by the employer.
We are an inclusive programme and will consider every application regardless of the university you are from.
There is no minimum GPA to apply for an internship.
You will work from home for a Singapore-based employer/company.
- Inform your supervisor of your schedule to align expectations for your timetable.
- Do also take the initiative to ask your supervisor for any relevant information or resources that can better give you context on how your can perform your assigned tasks better.
Upon request, your internship supervisor may provide a testimonial or feedback form.
Employers in Singapore are more keen to start with engaging students on an internship first. We have cases where students convert to full-time staff after they have done and enjoyed their work as an intern.

There is no set limit thus you could apply to as many job postings based on your discretion.
- For your positions of interest, understand first what are the basic desirable skills the employers look out for.
- Based on these skills, reflect back on past experiences that have given you the opportunity to display those skills. These past experiences do not necessarily have to be through formal working experience – school modules and extracurricular projects are great platforms as well.
- Look through your archives (documents, emails, images, etc) that showcase the work you have done through applying the skills.
- Some examples are as follows:
- Designer: Photos of graphics, interior, or web design work.
- Facilitator or trainer: Copies of presentation or training materials, participants evaluations, and video recording of your presentation.
- Public relations specialist: Copies of press work and marketing plans as well as results of event promotions.
- Researcher: Copies of research reports, peer reviews, technical documents, and articles in newspapers and professional journals as well as any awards received.
- Sales person: Graphs showing sales results, pitch decks.
- Teacher: Copies of lesson plans, class projects, and assignments.
- Writer: Copies of blogs, newspaper, and journal articles as well as grant proposals, reports, marketing plans, etc.
You can select the basic skills based on what you have and it does not have to be from formal work experience. It can be based on experiences you have thus far – from school or co-curricular activities. We will work with you to improve on these skills.
