1 year into our pursuit of redefining Soft Skills Measurement and Analytics, the Skilio team would love to celebrate this wonderful milestone with all of you!
2020 has seen unprecedented disruptions to our typical way of life, especially so due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these radical changes, Skilio took this in our stride and rallied our efforts to help others do the same. Skilio saw this year as THE year to future-proof our generation for the future of work because more than ever before, this is the year we need to unleash our human competitive advantage, using soft skills.
What Went Down in 2020?
Supporting Soft Skill Development In The New Blended Learning Norm
After various pilot tests and beta tests held, we fully launched our platform this year to boost the impact of our soft skill measurement and analytics tool for youth looking to capture the development of their future skills. This year, we are glad to partner with training organizations, corporates, schools and institutes of higher learning, all with the collective aim of empowering our next generation to succeed with soft skills.
During this season of global health concerns, we are thankful to partner with institutions and organizations with solid educational practices. This has allowed Skilio to continually support online learning for training programmes with minimal disruption, despite radical changes in the mode of learning!
Providing Youth With Accelerated Industry Exposure To Develop Soft Skills
Earlier this year, Skilio launched the Skilio Industry Immersion Programme, as part of our efforts to provide accelerated exposure to industry work. This #SGUnited initiative was launched as part of Skilio’s efforts to help Singaporean youths who had to cut short or cancel their overseas exchange or internships due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the vision to better prepare youth for the VUCA world ahead, we felt that it is even more crucial that we step up our efforts to support our fellow students in these trying times.
Over the course of three iterations of our programme, we are humbled to have on board with us 225 students and 45 industry mentors on the programme and on our Skilio platform. We are proud of and thankful for all our partnering organisations, mentors and students who have been with us to take charge of our soft skill mastery and gear ourselves up for the future of work. Through the SIIP, the Skilio team also picked up learnings and insights we have gleaned from organising the SIIP.
Guiding Students To Differentiating Themselves With Soft Skills
This year also saw us going on the group and having high touchpoints with students to provide them with expertise on how they can leverage on their soft skills and experiences to secure their dream opportunities.
We held the Deep Dive Into Skilio webinar, to help participants understand more about how their soft skills dashboards are generated on the Skilio platform and how they can use their Skilio Portfolio to their advantage to showcase their soft skill development for future opportunities be it in admissions or job applications.
We are also glad to partner with Junior Achievement Singapore, alongside PayPal volunteers to organise a CV & Interview Skills Workshop for participants to gain a better understanding of crafting a resume and preparing for an interview.
Through these curated programmes, Skilio hopes to convey the importance of soft skills in workplaces and how students can gain an edge to excel in these opportunities. While hard skills are crucial in this digital age, soft skills are equally essential to position our talent for success in the future.
Our 1st Birthday Celebration!
With this, Skilio cordially invites YOU to celebrate our first birthday with us! This month, we plan to roll out our series of launches to thank all of you for your support in the past year. Stay tuned to our social channels on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Telegram for exclusive access to these goodies!
And That’s Not All!
With all of your support we have received over the past year, our team wishes to stay true to our pursuit of a world where success is multidimensional. Through measuring learners’ soft skills development in the various experiences they take part in, we hope to continue equipping learners with future-ready skills and encourage a paradigm shift away from academic grades. Definitely, all these would not have been possible without the awesome partner organisations and clients that we are so thankful to be able to work with!
That being said, this vision of ours cannot be achieved alone. Skilio’s birthday wish is to enlist the help of the ecosystem of stakeholders from educators, learners and organisations who share the same vision of soft skill development to join us on this journey of future-proofing our generation for the future of work. If you or your organisation wants to be part of this amazing journey, please reach out to us.
Let’s build a generation of future-ready leaders today, together!
Love,
The Skilio Team
